Vasileios Tsoukas
Ph.D. candidate
Curriculum vitae
Vasileios Tsoukas graduated from the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Technological Applications, Technological Educational Institute of the Peloponnese. He is holder of a Master’s degree in “Informatics with Security Applications Big Data and Simulation", University of Thessaly, School of Sciences, Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics, and he is a Ph.D. candidate at the Department of Computer Sciences and Biomedical Informatics of the University of Thessaly. The subject of his doctoral thesis is “Architectures and Acceleration Algorithms in FPGA for Machine Learning". His research interest concerns FPGA acceleration architectures and algorithms for machine learning. Indicatively some of the learning engineering applications to be tested are in the following fields: speech recognition and graphical character recognition, bioinformatics, online fraud detection, natural language processing, medical diagnostics, DNA sequencing, robotics, search engines, computational vision, brokerage analysis. Apps for our daily lives are more common. However, there is a significant barrier, which is no less than the computational power required and the portability of the data collection device. Furthermore, he is a researcher in the Intelligent Systems Research Laboratory (iSL) of the University of Thessaly in Lamia.
