The mission of the Intelligent Systems Laboratory is included at the following:
- Conduct basic and applied research in the topics of the laboratory’s subject of knowledge and the publish of the relevant results in prestigious international scientific journals aνd conferences. The research will be based on devise of undergraduate theses, as well as post-graduated and doctoral theses.
- Covering the Department’s needs of teaching and laboratory at undergraduate and postgraduate level in courses related to its knowledge subject.
- Attracting resources in the execution of research projects or/and providing specialized services to private and public sector bodies.
- Attracting high-level undergraduate and post-graduated students, as well as post-doc researchers, from Greece and abroad.
- Active participation in inter-departmental postgraduate programs of study.
- Cooperation of any form (scientific, educational, research, functional, conventional or other) with Greek and foreign research centers, academic institutions, scientific and other bodies, and companies, if the laboratory’s scientific objectives coincide, are relevant or interlinked.
- Organizing/ co-organizing and participating in seminars, symposia, conferences, publications, inviting internationally recognized personalities and scientists, to promote the goals of the laboratory.
- Promoting the interconnection of the University with the private sector.
- Up growth of the Department of Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics via the upgrading of the level of the provided studies and the produced research, the subsequent upgrading of the students’ level that choose the Department for undergraduate and postgraduate studies, the quantitative and qualitative increase of its scientific staff, as well as the upgrade of its experimental equipment, increased flexibility’s and competitiveness’s in attracting resources from public and private sectors, as well as participating in research and educational collaborations with Greek and foreign institutions.
